III. 2010 Project plan for Research Institute for Independent Higher Education

Research Institute for Independent Higher Education, annex of Japan Private University Association, shall conduct investigation and research regarding the role of private universities and stand point of our country's higher education system. At the same time the institute shall promote the following activities listed below to contribute to our country's development of higher education.

I. Investigation and research plan
While sticking to the framework of projects proposed in 2009, investigation and research shall be conducted on the following themes:
-Privatization of higher education
-Research regarding private university management reform (including research on fundamentals of school corporation system)
-Establishment of a database for higher education in private schools
-Development and evaluation of private school undergraduate program
-Research on quality-assurance system (including evaluations of certified evaluation and accreditation system and observation of international trends regarding quality-assurance)
-Research regarding IR

II. Presentation of results and enlightening activities

	(1)	Conduct conference for researchers -Evaluate on issues regarding activities in the research institute and research plans -Generally the conference shall be conducted every other month at the private school assembly hall
	(2)	Conduct open study group - Generally the study group shall be conducted every other month at the private school assembly hall
	(3)	Research exchange activities -Present opportunities for domestic and international researchers and higher education institutions to exchange information
	(4)	Presentation, publication and public relations of research results -Edit, publish and distribute research publications -Presentation of editorials and book reviews on the academic education newspaper's "Arcadia school bulletin"

III Miscellaneous activities

The association shall work in liaison with various expert committees, from Japan Private University Association, and conduct necessary activities and projects
